Effective Date: January 7, 2025 InterviewSafe Inc. ("InterviewSafe," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share your personal information when you use our services.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to all users of the InterviewSafe platform, including employers, recruiters, and job candidates located in the United States.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of personal information:
- Contact Information: Name, email address.
- Technical Information: IP address, browser type, device data.
- Interview Data: Video recordings of interviews.
- Identity Verification Data: Government-issued ID or biometric data, collected and stored by our third-party identity verification provider.
- Usage Information: Activity logs, interactions with the platform.
- Google Account Information (optional): When you choose to connect your Google account:
- Email address and basic profile information (for authentication)
- Calendar availability data (free/busy times only)
- Calendar event information (when you choose to create or manage interview events)
3. How We Use Your Information
We use personal information to:
- Provide and operate our video interview services.
- Verify the identity of candidates using a third-party provider.
- Ensure platform security and integrity.
- Improve user experience and analyze service performance.
- Google Calendar Integration (optional): When you connect your Google account:
- Check your calendar availability to suggest optimal interview times
- Create, update, or delete interview events on your calendar (only when you explicitly request)
- Display your free/busy status to help schedule interviews
We do not use personal information for marketing purposes.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share it only in the following cases:
- With our third-party identity verification service to securely verify candidates.
- As required by law or to protect our legal rights.
- With service providers who assist in operating the platform (under confidentiality obligations).
Google User Data: We do not share, sell, or transfer your Google account data (including calendar information) with any third parties except as necessary to provide the calendar integration features you request. Your Google data is never used for advertising or any purposes beyond the scheduling features described in this policy.
5. Google Account Integration (Optional Feature)
5.1 Overview
Connecting your Google account to InterviewSafe is completely optional. You can use all core features of our platform without linking a Google account. Calendar integration is provided solely to enhance your scheduling experience.
5.2 Google API Scopes We Request
When you choose to connect your Google account, we request the following permissions:

5.3 How We Use Google Data
Authentication Data (email and profile):
- Used only to create and authenticate your InterviewSafe account
- Stored securely in our encrypted database
- Not shared with third parties
Calendar Data (read-only access):
- Used exclusively to check your availability when scheduling interviews
- We only access free/busy status, not event details or attendees
- Data is retrieved in real-time and not permanently stored
Calendar Events (create/edit/delete):
- Used only when you explicitly choose to add an interview to your calendar
- We create calendar events only for interviews you participate in
- You maintain full control to edit or delete these events
5.4 Google API Services User Data Policy Compliance
InterviewSafe's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Limited Use Requirements:
- We limit our use of Google user data to providing and improving the calendar scheduling features visible in our user interface
- We do not transfer Google user data to third parties except:
- As necessary to provide the calendar integration features you request
- For security purposes (e.g., detecting and preventing fraud)
- To comply with applicable laws
- As part of a merger or acquisition, only with your explicit consent
- We do not use Google user data for serving advertisements
- We do not allow humans to read your Google data unless:
- You provide explicit consent for specific troubleshooting purposes
- It is necessary for security investigations
- It is required to comply with applicable laws
- The data has been aggregated and anonymized
5.5 Data Security and Storage
- Google access tokens are encrypted and stored securely
- Calendar data accessed via read-only permissions is not permanently stored
- Calendar events we create are stored only in your Google Calendar, not on our servers
- We use industry-standard security practices including HTTPS, encryption at rest, and access controls
5.6 Revoking Access
You can disconnect your Google account at any time:
- Go to your InterviewSafe account settings
- Click "Disconnect Google Calendar"
- Or revoke access directly in your Google Account permissions
When you revoke access:
- We immediately delete all stored Google access tokens
- We can no longer access your calendar data
- Existing calendar events we created will remain on your calendar (you can delete them manually)
- Your InterviewSafe account remains active; only calendar features will be unavailable
5.7 Data Retention for Google Data
- Access Tokens: Deleted immediately upon account disconnection or revocation
- Calendar Availability Data: Not stored; accessed in real-time only
- Profile Information (email/name): Retained as part of your account unless you request account deletion
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer period is required by law or for security, compliance, or legal obligations.
7. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your data, including encryption, access controls, and secure storage practices. Identity verification data is handled solely by our third-party provider under strict compliance measures.
For Google user data specifically:
- All API communications use HTTPS encryption
- Access tokens are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM encryption
- Access to Google data is restricted to authorized personnel only
- We maintain audit logs of all access to sensitive data
8. Children's Privacy
InterviewSafe is not intended for children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
9. Your Rights and Choices
You have the following rights regarding your personal information:
9.1 Access and Correction
You can access and update your account information at any time through your account settings.
9.2 Data Deletion
You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at legal@interviewsafe.com. Please note:
- Deletion requests are processed within 30 days
- We may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes
- Google calendar access is revoked immediately upon account deletion
9.3 Google Account Disconnection
You can disconnect your Google account at any time without deleting your InterviewSafe account (see Section 5.6).
9.4 California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- Right to know what personal information is collected
- Right to know if personal information is sold or disclosed
- Right to opt-out of the sale of personal information (note: we do not sell personal information)
- Right to request deletion of personal information
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights

10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. If we make significant changes, we will provide notice through our platform or via email. Continued use of our services after such updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
For changes related to Google user data handling, we will provide prominent notice and, where required, obtain your consent before implementing changes.
